U.S. Bank is bringing back a promotion that was popular last summer called “Power Up Your Summer,” calling it “Power Up Your Home” this year. If you got the bonus last year you can go for it again this year. There will be no hard credit pull on this checking account sign-up so feel free to open up a checking account with U.S. Bank for this promotion and enter for the sweepstakes to win $50,000.
The Bank bonus to “Power Up Your Home” gets you $125 when you open a new consumer checking account and set up a direct deposit OR make 2 online bill pay transactions through August 10, 2015. You can fund your new account with a credit card for up to $500. Just make sure to add another $500 to the account so there are no fees as you see below the various accounts to sign up for. The opening deposit will not be considered as a cash advance so there is no need to worry about that. I would still advise not to use a Citi card to open the account as they are known for cash advances with bank purchases.
You can apply for a U.S. Bank account from any state and with the soft pull it will not show up on your credit report.
Here are the Steps To Get $125 US Bank Bonus:
1. Go over to the U.S. Bank Page Here to get a Promo Code by Dragging the red decoder over the
Power Up section
2. Enter your promo code
3. Open a new U.S. Bank Silver, Gold, or Platinum Checking Package by August 10, 2015 (online, in branch, or by phone)
4. Complete one or more direct deposits totaling at least $500 within 60 days OR complete 2 or more online bill pay transactions within 60 days.
Chance to Win $50,000
When you open up a new account with U.S. Bank you will also be entered for a chance to win $50,000 as part of the Power Up Your Home Sweepstakes.
U.S. Bank Checking Fees
For the Silver Checking Package, the fee is waived when you have a U.S. Bank Package Money Market Savings account and either a combined monthly direct deposit totaling $1,000 OR you maintain an average account balance of $1,500.

Bonus requirements must be completed within 60 days of account opening and the bonus will posted within 60 days of meeting the requirements. This promotion is not available to existing customers or if you have received a checking bonus in 2015.
I have a U.S Bank credit card so I am excited to go for this bank bonus because the monthly fees on the Gold account will be waived. If you don’t have a U.S Bank credit card then we recommend you open the silver checking account, these has a monthly fee of $8.95 ($6.95 if you enroll in paper statements) this is waived if you complete any of the following:
Have combined direct deposits totaling $1,000 or more or
Maintain an average monthly balance of $1,500.
The application can be annoying at times because it keeps showing a SAVE button next to the CONTINUE button at the bottom of each page. I kept trying to hit the SAVE button because it looked like the right thing to do and I was tired when filling out the app. I also goofed on another part where it asked if you already have a US Bank Credit Card I hit the button to apply for a card and I am glad I did not accidentally do a hard pull for another US Bank card that I do not want. Three cards from that bank are more than enough and I am ready to cancel a few of them. This is what it asks you on one page:
Yes, I want to add a U.S. Bank Credit Card to my Gold Checking Package account. (Choose your card option on the next screens.)
No thanks, I already have a U.S. Bank Credit Card.
No thanks, I want to open a Gold Checking account only.
Just saying to pay attention when filling out the applications and not be as tired and trying to multi-task like I am doing now. Also, Good luck with winning $50,000!
