Zoom has agreed to pay $85 million to settle a class action lawsuit which alleges privacy and security issues with Zoom meetings. The lawsuit alleges that Zoom (i) shared certain information with third parties, (ii) should have done more to prevent unwanted meeting disruptions by third parties, and (iii) advertised its Zoom Meetings App as being encrypted “end-to-end” when Plaintiffs contend it was not at that time.
If you have recently received an email about a Zoom settlement, it may not be junk mail. The email from “Settlement Administrator” from the email address “NoReply@ZoomMeetingsClassAction.com” is legitimate and could bring you $25. You can also go direct to the website below to file without an email.
Zoom denies these allegations, but both sides have agreed to a Settlement to resolve the dispute without further litigation risk and expense.

Our Verdict
This is an easy $15 for so many people who have used Zoom during the pandemic. It could end up like the Experian class action where the money gets watered down. It doesn’t hurt to file and as to be part of the settlement.
